- A victim of child sexual molestation from the age of 2 until 15, by men in my family, then a baby sitter’s son all whom should have been protecting or covering me.
I lived in fear and bondage to flesh and sin gripped me, at the same time I developed bitterness towards my family and men; wondering why they where not doing anything about what they where doing to me and why they where doing it to me but not my siblings?
Married at 15, believing I was escaping from the abuse and believing I found someone that could love me, seeing that he was a pastor’s son and a young deacon in church. Our marriage ended after my first child, being pregnant with our second he told me that “he did not want the responsibility of a family” and started sleeping around. Going from one bad relationship to another, I grew hard hearted towards men and was seeking out love in other places (seeking out women, which I never experience), anything other than men who at this point I detest! By the time I met, now the love of my life, I was so bitter I made up my mind that the next man that I had a relationship with, I would have the relationship, then kill and bury him under my trailer.
In my relationship with Larry, Jesus came into my life and not only saved me, He delivered me from the victim mentality and the pain associated with trusting men.
Larry and I started trusting the Lord for our relationship, children and now ministering to other families. Now I understand being assaulted by sin and covered in shame; Satin's attack on the woman is designed to bring alienation from those who can help you so that you never feel safe or trust, and only God knows being able to forgive brings healing and deliverance from the past.
The insults and offenses of this world are intended to destroy the woman and her effectiveness in her role towards her man. The true blessing of the shame I experienced from being sexually molested was not just deliverance is possible, but Jesus is a total source of healing for the body, soul and mind.
The sin of molestation was supposed to rob me of my childhood, stripped me of my dignity as a woman and renders me hopeless. Yet now I find a source of strength in ministering to children, woman and families that Jesus saves to the upmost because I know He lives and bring hope and healing to the fatherless, hopeless and the sick at heart.
Now a Missionary, Elder Bowe and I dedicate our whole life to ministering to Children and families. Forging forward in the Woman's Work currently under Church of God in Christ, Bishop L. T. Blackshear, Delaware Ecclesiastic Jurisdiction.
